Biography
Charles Russo is an award-winning journalist based in San Francisco whose work has appeared with the likes of Rolling Stone, VICE, the Los Angeles Times and San Francisco Magazine.
He has worked as an editor in the White House Photo Office and as a staff photographer for the SF Bay Guardian & the Half Moon Bay Review. More recently, he was the editor of The Six Fifty, an online magazine that covers life and culture around Silicon Valley.
In July of 2016, he released his first book – "Striking Distance: Bruce Lee and the Dawn of Martial Arts in America" – which chronicles the formative days of young Bruce Lee amid the trailblazing martial arts scene on San Francisco Bay.
Charles is currently the Senior Editor of Photography & Design for SFGATE.
He is represented by Levine-Greenberg-Rostan Literary Agency. Clients include Google, Stanford University, and VICE Media.
